RMRR Referee Scholarship Application

Purpose

This scholarship is to provide a committed RMRR member with the opportunity to attend a course or conference to increase improve their refereeing, coaching, performance reviewing, or administrative duties within the the Society.

Requirements

This scholarship is available to cover costs associated with attending an academy, course, conference or other formal activity. It cannot be used to cover costs associated with attending matches, tournaments or exchanges.

It is expected that applicants will have been active members of RMRR for at least three seasons and commit to continuing to be active members for at least two seasons following the completion of their scholarship.

Amount

This scholarship will provide for up to 75% of the cost of travel, lodging, registration, and meals. Applicants are asked to show personal investment in their development by providing (or finding other sources for) the remaining 25%.

The maximum amount RMRR can award in a calendar year will be established by the Executive Committee during the budget cycle.

Process

Applicants should submit the following to the RMRR Executive Committee:

  1. A description of the academy, course, conference, or activity including the proposed timeframes of attendance.
  2. How the academy, course, conference, or activity will benefit both the applicant and the RMRR society.
  3. A statement outlining the applicant’s prior and anticipated future commitment to RMRR.
  4. Anticipated costs associated with the academy, course, conference, or activity.

The RMRR Executive Committee will respond to the scholarship application within 21 days.

If approved, receipts of actual expenses (except meals) will be submitted to the RMRR Treasurer for reimbursement. Meals will be reimbursed based on per-diem rates set by the GSA or State Department. Advances may be requested and will be considered on a case by case basis.
